Ruchika Wason Singh was born in Delhi in 1974. She completed her B.F.A. (Painting) in 1997 and M.F.A. (Painting) in 1999 from College of Art, New Delhi. In 2001 she undertook a research project on the Sociological frameworks within the Indian Contemporary art in the twentieth century, at Delhi University. This research was supported by the Junior Research Fellowship (2001-2006) from University Grants Commission, New Delhi. Following this she received Ph.D. in 2008. She is an
Associate Artist at Digital Institute for Early Parenthood,U.K. and Member, Editorial Board, Journal of Mother Studies. Ruchika worked as Associate Professor, B.F.A. Department of Painting, College of Art, New Delhi, India between 2012 and 2017. She is also the founder of A.M.M.A.A. - The Archive for Mapping Mother Artists in Asia (Asia's first platform for mother artists) and runs Critical Dialogues Art Space, a space for mentoring young artists and critical discourses on art, in Delhi, India.
