Artist Talks Online

Calling all Professional Members who would like to talk about their work!

We’re going to run a new series of online artist talks over the coming months. This is a chance to present and discuss your practice with Spilt Milk’s international audiences.

Each talk will be hosted on Zoom and artists will be asked to present their work on a slideshow and talk about their practice for around 20 minutes. We aim to have a different theme for each talk and will pair artists together who are working with or exploring similar themes.

Each session will be programmed for approx 1 hour and 15 minutes consisting of 2 x artist talks at 20 mins each, and 30 mins of questions and discussion.

Our audiences will want to know about what you make and the influences behind it but will also want to hear about your unique journey’s in art and (m)otherhood. We therefore want to promote a variety of different practices and experiences and particularly encourage members who have been additionally ‘othered’ in the art world and/or experience multiple barriers to apply.

Selected artists will be paid a small fee of £84 for their time. This is based on Scottish Artist Union Rates of £42 per hour, at a total of 2 hours including preparing and delivering the talk.  This will be paid into a UK bank account, or via Paypal if based outside of the UK.

Eligibility:

  • Must be Professional Members of Spilt Milk

  • Must be comfortable speaking in public (online via zoom)

  • Must have good quality documentation of your work that can be shared via a zoom presentation
