Christine Pereira-Adams

Christine Pereira-Adams studied textile design at Chelsea School of Art and worked as a print designer in the fashion industry for 18 years. After the birth of her children she returned to study, completing a Graduate Certificate in Book Arts and Crafts at London College of Communication and an MA in visual arts at Camberwell College of Art, UAL. Her life experiences as a mother, her work in the textile industry and fine art studies are reflected in her current practice and use of materials. Sustainability and ecology are central to her work as she considers the interplay between the personal and global, in historical and contemporary contexts. Research is the starting point of each artwork, whether the focus is on scientific data, the natural world or lived experience.
