Elīna Eihmane

Elīna Eihmane is a published author, multidisciplinary artist, filmmaker, and home-educating mother from Latvia. She began her creative journey as a photographer and has been exhibiting internationally since 1998. Elīna's passion for storytelling led her to pursue a Master's degree in Filmmaking in 2009. For the past eight years, Elīna has called Taiwan her home, where she has continued to explore different art forms, including writing poetry with the Taipei Poetry Collective and learning how to paint. She finds joy in creating books, which she considers her favourite medium for telling stories. Elīna's debut picture book, "One Day at the Taiwan Land Bank Dinosaur Museum," was published by The Emma Press in 2021. She has recently released a beautifully illustrated poetry chapbook titled "Dragonfly Morning," published by Being Books. Elīna Eihmane’s work reflects her motherhood journey and living in a foreign country. It is characterized by gentle lullabies with hints of darkness. When she's not creating, Elīna loves going on adventures and exploring the beauty of Taiwan. Ultimately, she creates to listen, to remember, and to feel more alive.
