Call for exhibition submissions

We’re very excited to announce that submissions are now open for our next physical exhibition which will take place at Edinburgh Palette in March 2022. This is the first time we have been able to return to a physical exhibition space since the beginning of the pandemic, and we could not be more thrilled!
The exhibition will be held at Edinburgh Palette, 151 London Road, Edinburgh, EH7 6AE. Preliminary exhibition dates are March 5th-26th 2022.
Influenced by the many discussions we have had with the Spilt Milk community during the past year, this exhibition will be curated in response to the notion of collective healing. Artworks in any medium responding to the theme will be considered, including proposals for installations or live performance. Submissions could explore collective healing in a number of different ways including, but not limited to:
· Community, family, and resilience
· Climate justice
· Intergenerational trauma and healing
· Maternal mental health
· Equality and empowerment
· Collaboration
Women and non-binary artists who are mothers or life-long carers, of any age and living anywhere in the world are invited to apply. Submission to the exhibition is free to all members of Spilt Milk and non-members are welcome to apply subject to a small application fee of £10. New members are welcome to sign up here. Applicants can submit up to three works for consideration. Spilt Milk members are welcome to submit works which have previously been exhibited in one of our online exhibitions, and where audiences would benefit from seeing the work in a physical context. All submissions will be reviewed and selections made by an exhibitions committee made up of current members of Spilt Milk. The selected artists will be responsible for transporting their artwork to and from the gallery space, and all associated delivery costs including any import taxes due upon receipt. Spilt Milk will cover all other expenses related to the exhibition and promotion of the selected work.
